Lacey & Craig braved the cold weather snap we had 2 weeks ago to take engagement portraits. It was cold, windy & rainy with the temperatures in the 40s. Lacey seemed okay in her wool coat, but Craig & I were really cold. My fingers were frozen numb. Despite all that, we got some great images so it was worth it. I like changes in weather (one of the reasons why I left LA) so I’m not afraid to get out in it.
Here are some highlights from my wedding last weekend at Lambert Place, which is stylish, new, urban recption facility. Jessica & Bill are a great, fun-loving and laidback couple. No pre-wedding stress. And everything went smoothly thanks to Rhonda Allen of New Beginnings Weddings I had a good time shooting them. And a special shout out to

Occasionally I get emails asking about the artist singing on my website. The artist is
Caribbean born Darmian Marvey who I found at Download.com. Since using popular, commercial music is illegal (permission must be granted from the copyright holder just like with photos), I’m always surfing the internet for music that I can use with permission. If you’ve ever searched for royalty free music (many of the new age sounding piano tunes) you know it sucks. My husband referred to it as “running through the fields screaming I can’t believe it’s not butter” music. But there are a lot of good, unsigned or independent artists out there who would love the exposure and may grant permission to use their song. Download.com is just one such website where you can find them. Some of my favorite unsigned artists are J Rice and Ayanna and I love the song I Wonder by Natalie Brown.
