This is my second year doing this, so I reached out to my subscribers for their suggestions of organizations. I received several great suggestions and now I have the hard task of narrowing it down. DITR offers a variety of preventative programs and enrichment activities designed to build self esteem, character, and leadership among girls ages 10-18 years old.
CHRIS Kids – Healing Children – Strengthening Families – Building Community
Chris Kids – Creativity, Honor, Respect, Integrity, Safety (CHRIS) Kids is a community organization that provides healing to abused, neglected & rejected children; strengthens families by helping them accept responsibility for their lives and choices; and prevents youth homelessness through education, job and life skill training.
Summerhill Community Ministries
Summerhill Community Ministries- Summerhill is a community based, 501c.3 non-profit ministry in the Turner Field area downtown whose goal is to reach Atlanta’s inner city youth to offer hope and to help those in need. Women’s Employment Opportunity Project, Inc WEOP provides free computer classes and financial literacy and empowerment workshops for all ethnic groups of women in the South Fulton area. Atlanta Homeless Shelters Helping ChildrenAtlanta Children’s Shelter- Provides free day care, emotional support, and educational curriculum for homeless children, as well as social services for their families.
Youth Ensemble of Atlanta – Where Meaningful Theatre Begins Youth Ensemble of Atlanta (YEA) is a youth training and performance company that provides free training and opportunities to create and original productions to Atlanta area youths.
