A Different World

I had the pleasure of photographing a play produced by Gospel Tabernacle Church, called A Different World.  This was a very funny play, in the spirit of Tyler Perry, about church corruption and the consequences of following people over following God.  All of the starring cast members are excellent singers as well.

Jessica & Bella

Bridal sessions are a big tradition in the south, so I thought I’d give it a try. Below are some of my favorite images from my first bridal session.  Thanks to Jessica who braved the cold weather (58F) and the Saint Patty’s Day crowds to hang out with me and Piedmont Park last weekend.  And she brought along her baby, Bella.

212° Youth Service

I recently volunteered to be a photographer for my church and was asked to photograph their youth service, 212°.  Their service is held in another building that I’d never been to. When I got there I was impressed with what I saw. It makes me wish I was a kid again.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the ipod wall. 212_051.jpg212_034.jpg212_032.jpg

They have ID cards that they scan to check in.212_113.jpg

And here is the lounge outside of the santuary. They serve breakfast before services and lunch after the last service.  We (the main service) don’t get any food. :( 212_049.jpg

They have their own bookstore.212_065.jpg

And game room. 212_015.jpg

Lest you think they only play, here they are in their santuary where the praise &  worship is led by their own band. 212_073.jpgAfterwards, the 6th and 7th graders leave for a separate message and the 8th thru 12 grade service is led by our youth pastor, Rolando Gonzalez.

And the kids really listen.

And take notes.

And give.

If so, you’re in good company. Thirty-one THOUSAND brides registered on theknot.com are planning July 7, 07 weddings. So if you still have vendors to book, hurry because many are already booked. I booked that date last year and have turned down 3 or 4 requests since then.  Good Luck!  Read the full article below.
